Author Environment


Create New Content Pages using Predefined Templates:

  • Log in to the AEM Author instance.
  • Navigate to the desired location in the content structure.
  • Use the predefined templates to create a new content page.
  • Fill in the necessary fields and content areas as per the template structure.
  • Save the newly created content page.

Add New Content or Edit Existing Content on a Page:

  • Navigate to the content page you want to edit.
  • Select the editable area or component on the page.
  • Add new content or make edits using the intuitive authoring interface.
  • Save the changes made to the content page.

Create, Edit, and Manage Assets and Collections:

  • Access the AEM Assets console.
  • Upload new assets or select existing ones.
  • Organize assets into collections for efficient management.
  • Apply metadata and tags to assets for easy search and retrieval.

Move, Copy, or Delete Content Pages, Assets, and More:

  • Use the appropriate action (Move, Copy, or Delete) from the authoring interface.
  • Choose the destination or confirm deletion based on requirements.
  • Confirm the action to execute the move, copy, or delete operation.

Publish (or Unpublish) Pages, Assets, and More:

  • Select the content pages, assets, or components to publish.
  • Initiate the publishing process from the authoring interface.
  • Choose the target (Publish instance) and confirm the publication.
  • Optionally, unpublish content when necessary.

Manage Users and User Permissions Based on Their Role:

  • Access the User Management console.
  • Create or modify user accounts.
  • Assign specific roles and permissions to users based on their responsibilities.
  • Save and apply the changes.

Perform Administrative and Maintenance Tasks:

  • Access the AEM Administration console.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as configuring settings and monitoring system health.
  • Execute maintenance tasks like clearing caches and optimizing performance.

Create, Manage, and Run Workflows that Control Changes:

  • Access the AEM Workflow console.
  • Create new workflows or select existing ones.
  • Define workflow steps and conditions.
  • Initiate workflows to control the process of content creation, review, and approval.

Create Projects that Coordinate Individual Tasks:

  • Access the AEM Projects console.
  • Create a new project and define its objectives.
  • Assign individual tasks to team members within the project.
  • Monitor the progress and completion of tasks.
